Essays done! The one on my preferred paper was 5000 words (hah, 2500 indeed). The one on the unreadable paper really was 2500 words, but I think it contained more interesting arguments than the longer one. They aren't the best essays I've ever written, but hopefully a dim light of comprehension shines through somewhere.
Metrics time. Aargh.
