On Tuesday I went out and bought the missing cable required to make my new power supply suppy power to my hard drive. Now my hard drive works again. The entire experience took two weeks and one day, and cost me around $35 (shipping and the purchase of the cable).
Otherwise my week has been full of fail. I need to work more.
